Jay, New York

Every Stay Helps Jay.

About 240 homes in Jay welcome guests. Here's what that means for our town.

Why it matters

What every stay does for Jay

We hire local. A lot of local.

Every stay keeps people who live here working, and it takes a lot of them.

We help pay for schools and the ambulance.

Our homes pay into the school district without sending any kids there, and the lodging tax on every stay helps fund the ambulance.

We send our guests local.

Our members point every guest to Adirondack Mountain Coffee, New Vida, Lance's Pizza, the Ice Jam Inn and the rest of Jay. Guest money stays in town.

Our part

We want Jay to succeed, same as everyone who lives here.

So we're doing our part: making it work for our neighbors and helping Jay grow.

Owned by people who love Jay. Cared for by people who live here.

Some of us are here half the year. Some of us rent full time. All of us want Jay to work.

The Good Neighbor Standard

Proposed

Same standard for every home.

A short list of voluntary commitments we think every home in Jay should make, rented or not. Our members sign it. We hope our neighbors will too.

And if the town adds rules on noise, trash, fire or parking, we'll support ones that apply to every home the same way.
